This is a calming, diffusing and gently cooling massage blend. The herbs and oils in this formula quiet the elemental "fire" traveling between the blood and the internal organs of heat such as the small intestine, brain, eyes and heart. Pitta massage oil may be helpful if you're feeling a wee bit intense, irritable, perfectionistic, driven and easily frustrated.
It provides anti-inflammatory support, is a pacifying relaxant and feels calming.
WHY HERBAL OIL MASSAGE?
Skin contains the greatest amount of energy channels.
At each pore and each follicle of hair on the skin there is a receptor energy channel. Toxins, stress, sedentary living, injury, illness and medications can clog these channels.
Oil massage is an excellent way to purify the channels while nourishing a glow to the skin
WHY AYURVEDIC OILS?
Using Ayurvedic oils in massage provides multi-dimensional energy healing whereas common base oils with essential oils added, (while aromatic and lovely) do not.
Due to the lengthy processes of herbal decoction, infusion, cooking, evaporating and filtering in preparation of Ayurvedic Oils (thailams), the end result is a product that may be considered both a food-grade as well as a medicine-grade herbal supplement that is taken trans-dermally (via skin).
Solavedi oils penetrate the skin easily and transport the healing properties of nature, directly to the cells in the body because the active compounds are drawn from the plant material and rendered in a form that the cellular body can receive.
HOW DO WE MAKE OUR OILS (THAILAM)?
Solavedi Ayurvedic Oils are made by hand, in very small batches.
Each oil is made in accord with AFI (Ayurvedic Formulary of India)- in part by Ayurvedic physicians (vaidyas) in India - and in part by me.
Only premium quality, certified pesticide - free plants are sourced and selected.
Knowledge of herbology is critical in determining the ingredients used, and of how each aspect of the plant material is to be treated.
For example, Ayurveda oil is always made from a decoction and a paste. A decoction will be prepared from one or more varieties of plants, which is then brewed and concentrated (dravyha).
Over a long period the moisture evaporates andthe consistency of the paste changes, revealing the characteristic features of the thailam.
The work is arduous and many of the herbs required aren't native to New England where I am, so I am working in alliance with trusted Ayurvedic physicians (vaidyas) who provide the initial decoctions for me.
Once I receive the dravyhas I hand constitute your thailams per order.
Your oil, and the power of love and nature that has been contained within it, is then bottled for your benefit and use.
