Cat's claw contains a compound known as pentacyclic oxindolic alkaloid (POA) that is believed to have anti-inflammatory effects. The compound, specific to cat's claw, is able to block the production of inflammatory substances such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha).

TNF-a helps regulate the immune response and, among other things, is responsible for inducing fever, inflammation, and apoptosis (programmed cell death) in old or damaged cells.

This oil can be applied to the skin in a cream, ointment, balm or massage oil. It can also be made into steam compresses. Blend this infused oil in a ratio of 4:1
(1 part 3XO to 4 parts carrier, ie: cream, balm or oil base)

 ABOUT MY MASSAGE MEDICAL INFUSIONS

My infused oils (also called decoctions) follow the Ayurvedic tradition of oil extraction rather than distillation or solvent extraction.
The reason is that each herbal oil is “sneha”, or a form of self love and self care and, as such, it ought to provide nourishment rather than volatility the way that certain essential oils and solvent expressed herb products can.

Each batch starts with a base of fine certified organic olive, sesame, sunflower or coconut oil.
I then add (LOTS of) fresh or dried plant material depending on the macerate, and allow them to steep for 4 - 12 weeks over low heat.

My 3XO oils are each triple - (or, quadruple- 4XO) infused with plant material - imparting them with the healing properties of the herbs.

Many oils on the market use a ratio of 1 pound of herb to a gallon of oil. Mine ranges from 5-10 pounds per gallon.
You won’t find stronger infused oils, anywhere.

These gorgeous oils range in color from a deep carmine red of the Saffron to a beautiful, golden yellow of the Turmeric.
Open a bottle of my oil and you will be rewarded with the natural aromatics of the herb.

USES
These oils are used by massage and physical therapists directly on trouble spots, such as stiff joints, achy muscles, neuralgia or bruises.
They can be diluted in base oil for an all over massage oil, or added to the bath or shampoo.
Clients can use these at home for ongoing treatment.

These oils also make excellent bases for salves, creams and lotions.
The ratio I recommend is 1:4
In other words, add 1 ounce of infusion per 8 ounces of base (cream, lotion, oil) or 1 tsp of infused oil to 1 ounce of carrier oil or cream or balm base, blended while warm. Mix well.

These amazing oils are made fresh every growing season and are not continuous stock.
They are the freshest, most vibrant oils on the market.
Most of these oils will last up to 3 years if kept cool and dark.

These oils are not to be confused with essential oils, which are generally a product of distillation.

I am happy to make custom infusions if you have patience. Allow 2 to 3 months.
If you would like any of our herbs infused in a different base oil, just ask. I love doing those too.
