Body exfoliation has long been part of Ayurveda's deep-cleansing philosophy. On a physical level, regular light exfoliation can stimulate the skin, eliminate toxins more efficiently, and remove dead cells. It also helps clear the mind.

Ayurvedic beauty treatments are gentle and natural—about as far from harsh chemical treatments as you can imagine. It offers a simple guideline: "If you can't eat it, do not put it on your skin. What is put on the skin should be filled with nourishment and safe enough to be taken internally."

Full body herbal oil scrubbing is excellent for stimulating circulation and removing dead skin, no matter which body type, or, dosha you identify as.

Use a handful of the Ayurvedic Body Scrub and gently massage it into your skin while standing in the shower, with the water running. This mimics an important aspect of Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy, where oil massage is followed by steam therapy. The oil and steam (as well as perspiration through the pores) mobilise the loosened toxins as well as  stimulating the lymphatic system, which is important for developing a strong immune system.

Lymph ducts are located all over the body and drain into the blood circulatory system just above the heart.
So, in theory, massaging the scrub toward the heart could improve the function of the lymphatic system.

Start with the soles of your feet, scrubbing upwards in a circular motion. Move up the legs, then do the hands and move up the arms. Do your back and abdomen last. Avoid any irritated skin.

Do not use soap to remove the oils from your body. Instead, remain in the shower and allow the hot water to drive them more inwardly. When finished, towel dry.

Ingredients: Organic almond, coconut, and sesame oils with ashwaghanda, basil, pippali, bay, mint, juniper, manjistha, sweet orange and mustard blended with Kauai sea salt.
