Aromatic Description: Rich, sweet, fragrant yet delicate, woody, floral.

Blends with: The soft woody fragrance of sandalwood blends well with rose, clove, lavender, black pepper, bergamot, rosewood, geranium, labdanum, oak moss, benzoin, vetiver, patchouli, mimosa, myrrh, and jasmine

Effects on the mind

Renowned for its balancing effect on the nervous system, gently soothing away anxiety and tension.

Effects on the body

  • Important for the urinary tract, alleviating cystitis and vaginal infections of all kinds

  • A tonic for the heart, exerting a sedative yet regulatory effect

  • Beneficial for chest infections, coughs, bronchitis, and sore throats.  It is antiseptic and boosts the immune system

  • An aphrodisiac and, therefore, helpful for problems of frigidity and impotence

  • Used extensively for skin complaints, sandalwood is particularly beneficial for dry, cracked and dehydrated skin.  It makes an excellent aftershave when blended in carrier oil.
