Vata Massage Oil is in the family of herbal plant medicines called "nervines". A nervine is not a suppressant on the stimulus function of nerves, but is, instead, nutritive and stabilizing.
The herbs used are also warming to the joints and deeply nutritive for Vata’s dry skin. Properties are enhanced when combined with steam compresses, sauna or heated stones

Ingredients: organic unrefined sesame oil (80%), organic olive oil (20%), triple infused with Amalaki (indian gooseberry), Bala (sida), Guduchi, Rasha, Sunthi (ginger), Sarala (pine needle), Devadaru, Ela, Tulsi (holy basil), Jivaka (orchid), Jatipati (nutmeg), Tvak (cinnamon), Kunduru (boswellia serrata), Frankincense, Tagara (valerian), Lavender, Patchouli, Rock Rose, Sweet Orange

Kapha Massage Oil offers a synergy of decongesting, astringent, diaphoretic and warming compounds that work transdermally to benefit every cell, organ and system via these energy channels.
Specifically, Kapha Massage Oil aids in the removal of accumulated toxins by binding to fat-based ama, having the power to interact with all 7 layers of the human body simultaneously, and mobilising these toxins for elimination.
This formulation brings a focused action and stimulation to sites of accumulation or stagnation in the slower moving energies of the fluid and connective systems.
Properties are enhanced when combined with steam compresses, sauna or heated stones.

Ingredients: organic unrefined sesame oil (50%) organic sunflower oil (25%) and organic grapeseed oil (25%)  triple infused with Ayurvedic herbs: Bilva, Brihat, Amalaki, Haritaki, Bibhitaki, Tulsi, Hrivera, and Western herbs: Eucalyptus, Fern, Fir Needle, Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Peppermint,
Rosemary

Pitta Massage Oil Pitta Oil is a calming, cooling and gently diffusing formula.
The herbs and oils in this formula quiet the elemental "fire" traveling between the blood and the muscles, as well as the expression of internal heat in the head, scalp, and eyes.

WHY MASSAGE WITH HERBALISED OILS?
Herbalised oils offer numerous therapeutic compounds that reach virtually every cell, organ and system simultaneously via trans dermal pathways as well as via inhalation.

A basic scientific principle underlying all of Ayurveda teaches that the human body is comprised of layers, called “sheaths”, of varying subtleties as well as physicality.

These sheaths represent and combine vital life force energy that is maintained and made functional by unctuous substances (mainly lipid /oil based) and energetic circulatory systems.

Ayurveda is perhaps the first and foremost medical model to utilize the skin in the trans dermal administration of nutritives, as well as in the removal of toxins, to maintain health. This is because, according to the ancient texts, our skin contains access points to internal energy channels and, at each pore and follicle of hair on the skin, there is a oil-loving energy channel receptor.

What this confirms is how efficiently oil-based topical applications are absorbed, and how the properties within herbalised oils cross the cell membranes more deeply than just softening the skin, thus placing herbalised massage oils into the category of trans dermal nourishments.

Ayurveda’s oldest medical doctrine text (Charaka Samhita) repeatedly describes how specific herbalised oils have the power to interact with all 7 layers of the human body simultaneously.

This is why Abhyanga, or, oil massage with rich sesame, as well as other food grade oils slowly cooked with nutritive, warming, calming, astringent and activating herbs, is at the heart of Ayurveda’s wonderful rejuvenation medicine (Pancha Karma and / or Purva Karma, and Shirodhara, Champissage and Marma Therapy) and self care alike. It provides deep tissue nourishment and helps reconnect the physiology with its underlying biological intelligence.
