PITTA SKIN CARE
Pitta skin is a warm, sensitive, and combination-to-oily skin type. It is easily irritated by heat and prone to redness, acne, and rashes. To treat it, focus on cooling, calming and nourishing using natural nutritive ingredients

The Pitta dosha represents fire and water. When your "inner fire" becomes too strong, your skin shows it.

Characteristics of Pitta Skin

• Look: Fair, freckled, or ruddy (reddish) complexion.

• Feel: Warm to the touch.

• Issues: Gets oily in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin), but can easily get dry, too. It reacts quickly to sun, spicy food, and stress.

How to Treat Pitta Skin

Treating Pitta skin is all about lowering heat and calming/protecting the skin barrier.

1. Use a Cooling Skincare Routine

• Cleanse: Wash your face with cold or room temperature water. Hot water and steam will make your skin angrier. Our Pitta collections provide more than 1 cleanser, so that you can respond to the variations that your skin will express. There is a gentle, non drying water based face wash in each collection. This is best for morning use.
  Additionally, your collection comes with our beautiful Azulene Facial oil, made from blue chamomile flowers.This oil is anti inflammatory and relaxing.

• Tone: Refresh your skin with an alcohol-free hydrosol based toner. The toner in the Pitta kits is 1000 Petals Flora toner, a humectant cocktail to refresh and calm your skin (and soul)

• Moisturizer + Gentle Hyaluronic Vitamin C Serum Pitta skin needs protection from depleting exposure to the elements, and it needs repair from sun exposure
  Our Pitta face cream is made with soothing Calendula and calming Turmeric, while the serum is a sun-safe, buffered form of Vitamin C that helps heal your sensitive skin all day.

• Sun Protection: Your skin burns easily. That’s why we include a bottle of zinc oxide in these collections, so you can blend a little in with your cream as a safe sun block.

2. Clay Mask
Once a week it’s a good idea to make a reviving face fask.
These collections offer either Rose or White Clay, which you can activate with your toner and serum for a luxurious, therapeutic treatment at home

Solavedi Organics Skincare products are made fresh, in small batches, by hand, by Licensed Esthetician, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Ayurvedic Herbal Cosmetics Formulist Carollanne Crichton in rural Monroe, Maine USA (mid Coast).

We are passionate about sharing the education behind each protocol and ingredient.
Whether you are an individual or an esthetician, we are here to help you learn about the many Ayurvedic constitutional expressive personalities, both in harmony as well as under stress - so that you can resolve any ongoing concerns

Expected shelf life of the skincare collections is between 18 and 24 months from  when you receive it from us and is clearly marked on the product label.
The Dosha Skincare Collections are intended to be small trials of each designated protocol so that you can see how it works with your skin. Also, each protocol collection of 6 - 7 products is in small, but ample enough sizes to facilitate a noticeable shift in your current condition (Each .5 ounce bottle with daily use, typically lasts 2 - 3 weeks) . We envision you phasing out of 1 protocol and into another in some cases.

The other great thing about trying the small size first is that it allows you to buy the full size of only those products you are certain work well for you.

ABOUT THE FORMULAS

These products are non ge (genetically engineered),  are gluten free + soy free, made with oils that are extracted without hexane, are dairy free (except for the Rokk + Blom Clay. It has powdered goat’s milk) and made with raw, unrefined oils and raw, unfiltered New England Honey.
Additionally, all of  our facial care products are made with triple infused botanicals in food grade oils rather than essential oils. We make our oils following Ayurvedic medicinal oil making methods.
No essential oils are used in these facial products.

SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS

All products are packaged in glass.
Kindly recycle or reuse.
(We have reduced our plastic usage to lower than 8%)
Label Inks are compostable, made from Algae.
Dyes are not permanent or 100% waterproof forever.

Maine Maker’s Pledge: We source very local, very fresh ingredients as often as possible. Some ingredients are also wildcrafted. It is for this reason we are not a certified organic company.
