VATA KAPHA SKINCARE
A Vata-Kapha skin type is a mix of two opposing Ayurvedic energies: dry Vata (air and space) and oily Kapha (water and earth). This creates "combination skin" that feels dry and flaky on the cheeks, but oily and prone to congestion around the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin).

Vata-Kapha Skin vs. Single Doshas

Vs. Pure Vata Skin: Pure Vata skin is dry, thin, and rough everywhere.
Vata-Kapha skin has these dry traits only in certain spots, while other areas are thicker and more oily.
Vs. Pure Kapha Skin: Pure Kapha skin is uniformly thick, very oily, and prone to large pores.
Vata-Kapha skin only has these oily characteristics in specific zones, while remaining tight and dry in others.
Vs. Pitta Skin: Pitta skin is hot, sensitive, and prone to redness. Vata-Kapha skin is cool, non-sensitive, and fluctuates between dry patches and oily buildup.

Key Characteristics

Because Vata and Kapha are opposites, your skin can show signs of both simultaneously:

The T-Zone: Oily, clammy, thick, and prone to clogged pores or blackheads.
The Cheeks: Dry, thin, rough to the touch, and prone to premature fine lines or flakiness.
Overall Look: Can look dull, congested in the middle, and dehydrated on the outer edges.

How to Treat Vata-Kapha Skin

Balancing dual-doshic skin means treating the dry zones without making the oily zones worse.

Here are the primary principles to keep in mind:

Smart Cleansing:
Address both the hydroplhillic and the lipophillic requirents when you cleanse.
Put simply: Oil and Water DO mix. And, what better step in your skincare than during the cleanse to mix them together?
Our collections for Vata Kapha provide you with a choice of cleansers.
1. Ayurvedic AHA Fruit Cell Extract Wash. This is a glycolic acid cleanser with added turmeric and ashoka for calming. It’s function is to break through dried sebum in the pores.
2. Sea Mineral Cleansing Gel. This is a remineralizing, slightly thermal but soothing gel consistency for daily use.
3. Ayurvedic Cleansing Milk: Made with Vitamin C, Sea Buckthorn, Fig and Hyaluronic Acid, this is the most balanced facial cleanser for your combination skin. (100% Vegan)

Exfoliating Wisely:
Trade out the word “Scrub” for “Ubtan”.
These are powdered blends of clays, herbs, and flower petalls that you will activate with a range of delicious liquids, to form a creamy exfoliant cleanser, which doubles as a face mask.

This is where the brilliance of Ayurvedic herbal cosmetology comes into play:

Solavedi Organics Skincare products are made fresh, in small batches, by hand, by Licensed Esthetician, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Ayurvedic Herbal Cosmetics Formulist Carollanne Crichton in rural Monroe, Maine USA (mid Coast).

We are passionate about sharing the education behind each protocol and ingredient.
Whether you are an individual or an esthetician, we are here to help you learn about the many Ayurvedic constitutional expressive personalities, both in harmony as well as under stress - so that you can resolve any ongoing concerns

Expected shelf life of the skincare collections is between 18 and 24 months from when you receive it from us and is clearly marked on the product label.
The Dosha Skincare Collections are intended to be small trials of each designated protocol so that you can see how it works with your skin. Also, each protocol collection of 6 - 7 products is in small, but ample enough sizes to facilitate a noticeable shift in your current condition (Each .5 ounce bottle with daily use, typically lasts 2 - 3 weeks) . We envision you phasing out of 1 protocol and into another in some cases.

The other great thing about trying the small size first is that it allows you to buy the full size of only those products you are certain work well for you.

ABOUT THE FORMULAS

These products are non ge (genetically engineered), are gluten free + soy free, made with oils that are extracted without hexane, are dairy free (except for the Rokk + Blom Clay. It has powdered goat’s milk) and made with raw, unrefined oils and raw, unfiltered New England Honey.
Additionally, all of our facial care products are made with triple infused botanicals in food grade oils rather than essential oils. We make our oils following Ayurvedic medicinal oil making methods.
No essential oils are used in these facial products.

SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS

All products are packaged in glass.
Kindly recycle or reuse.
(We have reduced our plastic usage to lower than 8%)
Label Inks are compostable, made from Algae.
Dyes are not permanent or 100% waterproof forever.
