• the importance of selecting high-quality natural ingredients, careful ingredient selection based on desired profiles, and the basics of skin care or transdermal body care formulation for creating effective and safe products.

• properties of different oils and actives to create effective products

• tools and techniques required to mix and prepare topical products

• how to incorporate ingredients like botanicals for your signature product range.

• where to source high-quality, natural ingredients

• experimenting with different combinations

• testing for safety and effectiveness

•  the legalities and regulations necessary for making and selling skincare to ensure compliance and build trust with customers.

• ensure your labels are honest and not misleading.

  Mentorship is not the same as, or a substitute for, supervised lab and classroom hours in a dedicated cosmetics formulation program, herbalism certification course, or esthetics licensure.

  
  Mentoring with me is not going to be a perfect fit for the person seeking to create a mass market brand or product line, or for whom consistency, committment and patience for the process are not strong.
  
  My area of expertise is centered around traditional Ayurvedic methodology of solvent-free oil extraction of herbs and food grade botanicals blended into topical treatment products.

  
  The scale of small batch, hand blended cosmetics may be a perfect extension of your current services as either an esthetician or a massage therapist.
  As a formulist, although I have experience with and knowledge of the properties of lab made synthetic ingredients, I will always prefer and suggest natural ingredients.

Besides being the Formulist here at Solavedi Organics, I am a practicing LMT (since 1989), and an Ayurvedic Pancha Karma Therapist (since 1984).
I’m also a Licensed Esthetician.

I owned and operated a massage school in CT in the early 2000’s, and, after handing it over to one of my students, dedicated my energies to developing the Solavedi Organics range of topical skincare and massage medicinals as an extension of services I provide, just like you.

I have spent over 25 years integrating:
R & D: Researching AFI (Ayurvedic Formulary of India) traditional formulas from the ancient texts of Sushruta Samhita and Charaka, and, blending old world medicine making methodologies with Solavedi’s signature creations.
An example is slow-cooked liposomal encapsulation of active peptides from seaweeds, pomegranate seed and sandalwood sterols, yielding true transdermal skincare.
I can help you learn to create oil based skincare guided by both western skincare science and ancient teachings.
